The 2017 edition of MarketScalper PRO represents a major expansion to the algorithmic framework, introducing a powerful, user-controlled signal filter to the High Frequency Trading mode. The filter, called HFT Precision was developed with intentions of reducing the quantity of signals during times of strong trend and increasing their quality during more opportune times of ranging and retracing price action.

Above: MarketScalper PRO 2017 scalping USD/CHF M5 chart. HFT mode with HFT Precision filter.

HFT Precision Filter: high frequency trading under right conditions

This filter can only be applied to MarketScalper PRO (2017 Edition and later) signals when the High Frequency Trading mode is active. In other words, the prerequisite parameter is HighFrequencyTrading set to True. The HFT Precision filter qualifies only those HFT signals with the highest probability of success based on past price behavior, statistics, and volume factoring. Some of the best scalping opportunities are presented during range-bound, volatile, high volume price action that represents intraday battles between bulls and bears – this is one of several qualifiers that the HFT Precision filter continually scans for. To activate the HFT Precision filter, set HighFrequency_Precision parameter to True.

The following before and after screenshots show the difference in MarketScalper PRO 2017's High Frequency Trading mode without and with the HFT precision filter active.

EUR/USD (Euro/Dollar) 5-minute; High Frequency Trading mode on, no HFT Precision filter

EUR/USD (Euro/Dollar) 5-minute; HFT Precision filter applied

EUR/JPY (Euro/Yen) 5-minute; High Frequency Trading mode on, no HFT Precision filter

GBP/USD (Pound/Dollar) 15-minute; High Frequency Trading mode on, no HFT Precision filter

USD/CHF (Dollar/Swiss) 5-minute; High Frequency Trading mode on, no HFT Precision filter

USD/CAD (Dollar/Loonie) 1-minute; High Frequency Trading mode on, no HFT Precision filter

Due to the larger number of signals and preference for lower time frames (M15 and under), High Frequency Trading mode typically requires tighter Stop-Loss and Take-Profit values. The alternative use for HFT mode is to use it alongside a trend-following indicator like TradeBuilder or TrendSuite to build a more comprehensive trading system. You'd use trend-geared signals to open trades and MarketScalper's HFT signals to close, as soon as trend momentum begins to weaken.

Standard Mode: lower frequency; highest accuracy

MarketScalper PRO 2017's standard mode remains best performing, if you don't mind fewer signals. Here are a few examples:

AUD/NZD (Aussie/Kiwi) 5-minute; Probability @ 2

GBP/AUD (Pound/Aussie) 5-minute; Probability @ 4

GBP/JPY (Pound/Yen) 1-minute; Probability @ 4

GBP/USD (Pound/Dollar) 5-minute; Probability @ 3

USD/CHF (Dollar/Swiss) 15-minute; Probability @ 4

Optional, Algorithmic Optimization

Clients looking to customize or further boost performance of MarketScalper can do so via our Software Development and Optimization service - the 2017 edition framework fully supports it. This process involves adding a special sub-algorithm to the main MarketScalper PRO framework, specifically developed with models that target behavior of client's requested market, time frame, or chart type. Since code is exclusively written for specific behavioral price patterns associated with the target market, the quality of signals is further improved. Clients interested in customization should contact us with the details of their strategy or return objective.

Fully Back-Compatible

While 2016 and 2017 Editions share the same framework for the main, non HFT mode, we know there are some of you still relying on v13 (2015 release) algorithm for your existing strategies. To make the 2017 edition emulate prior versions simply set Algorithm_Version parameter to either 13, 12, or 11, representing MarketScalper v13, v12, v11. An icon with the version number will be added to MarketScalper's dashboard indicating which algorithm is being emulated.

Expert Adviser (EA) updated to 2017

MarketScalper's EA add-on fully supports the new 2017 edition framework (including the HFT Precision filter) and even allows back-compatibility with prior versions using the same emulation technique as mentioned above.

Technical Improvements

The 2017 edition of MarketScalper was natively compiled in Metatrader 4 build 1045+ API environment. This step improves technical performance (speed of calculations, memory management) and ensures that MarketScalper remains future-proof and compatible with upcoming versions of the platform.

The manual has been revised to cover all new features of MarketScalper 2017 (PRO, Mixer, EAs).
